Hello, this is Radio-7, the program «My music - my life», my name is Maxim Shabalin and today we’ll talk about my favorite songs, my favorite music. I was thinking how to begin our program and decided that it would be, probably, right to start from the songs, which I used to like in my childhood. Because they…well…they have somehow made such impression on me and on my tastes, even later in the future. I was born in the city of Samara, on Volga River and here every year takes a place the wonderful festival "Grushensky". I think many people know it; it is a festival of bard songs. Every year bards gather there and sing their new songs and after that they go on the journey on kayaks and canoes. It’s a week-long journey, they paddle every day and in the evenings they sit down at the camp fire and sing these songs. And I had a chance to take part in such journey along with my parents. It has left a very bright trace, I liked it very much, it was very warm and sincere there. We gathered and sang songs to the guitar. And the song that I remember is Oleg Mityaev's song «Summer is a small life» I would like you to hear it now. So, Oleg Mityaev – «Summer is a small life».

Good evening! It is Radio-7, «My music – my life». Maxim is in the studio and we speak about my favorite melodies. And now I’m going to tell you the story. Well… for me it’s a very funny one - because when I was 15 years old, I have bought Michael Jackson's disk, it was his the most popular one at that time. I think it was called "History" if I am not mistaken, and there was a song« I’m bad ». I liked it madly and at that time we had a musical centre with a karaoke function so I decided to sing it... I have sung it; it seemed to me that I’m the genius ... Well... But it was a tough blow on my self-esteem
and since then, probably, for 15 years I stopped singing... And only just literally for the last 2-3 years I have started to go to a karaoke and have recovered from this blow... so that…Well - and Michael Jackson is a unique person, he is a genius and now I’d like to hear his song «I’m bad ».

Greetings to everyone! On air is Maxim Shabalin. Radio-7, the program «My music – my life». Probably, every artiste, every actor has some role or music to which he would like very much to make something, but it has not turned out. And for me it is the music from the movie, from the "Amelie" soundtrack. It is tremendous music, every time when I listen to it I get the goose bumps, but it had happened so that at the moment when we wanted to take it for the free dance, the other pair – our competitors from America Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto already took it, and in the figure skating it is not acceptable to copy someone’s music, especially in the ice dances. That’s why, unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to make a number to it... But I like this music very much, therefore now I would like to listen to it.

Hi, this is Radio-7 the program «My music – my life» In studio Maxim Shabalin and we speak about music that influenced me in my life. And now I would like to tell you also very funny for me story. I have a few cities in the world with which some very pleasant memories are connected and one of them is the city of Odessa. For the first time I have got acquainted with it about 5 years ago... My friend, his name is Vazgen Azrojan, is from Odessa….. Here... And he has invited me, he was inviting me for a long time to this city, but somehow it had not worked out, there was no free time…but once at least he succeeded and we went by the train to Odessa. We were traveling on the train… we had an excellent supper at the restaurant-car, it took us for a while…and the first custom (
Russian) we have met directly there. But anyway - for the second one – Ukrainian - we have returned (to our car). But we were… tired ;D))... And then the customs officer comes in and says: «Documents, please! Are you the citizens of what country?»
Vazgen says – «I’m from Ukraine».
– «It is not necessary for the Ukrainians, and you, the young man, where are you from? »
- «I’m from Russia»
- «From Russia? Fill in, please, the declaration where you are going to stay!»
- «Vazgen! Where are we going to live?! »
Vazgen already was sleeping – «Arcadiya!»
(Arcadiya – is the area and the beach name in Odessa and also Arcadiy – is a Russian men name)I say – “Where?”
- “Arcadiya!”
I think to myself - "Well, at Arcadiy's
(house), then at Arcadiy's!" and I wrote it down in the declaration - "at Arcadiy’s"
But the customs officer has played it cool and looked at me and said: “Tell me, please – does this Arcadiy have an address?
- “Vazgen! Does Arcadiy have an address?”
- «It does! At the shore!»
And I write – «At the shore».
) And I give it to the person.
And since then, our trip, as it began funny as amazing time we had. We have spent two weeks there and I have fallen in love with this city. That’s why I would like now to listen to Leonid Utesov's song «At the black sea». About Odessa.

Greetings to everyone! Radio-7, the program «My music – my life» and this is Max Shabalin and we speak about my music. Not in sense of "mine", but the one that I like. The last two years of my life I have spent in America. So it happened that Oksana and I moved there to train to the state of Pennsylvania, nearby Philadelphia and each days off I got out to New York. For me New York in the first place means all its tremendous jazz bars. And one time, late at night, I have wondered, absolutely by chance, in a jazz bar – and I liked it so much! It was very cozy there – books - all around the bar there were bookcases; and such pleasant, live music. And all it was lasting for two hours... And after that an old person has come in, he was about 80 years old. And as I have understood that in America there is a kind of cult of Frank Sinatra. So he (
the old men) was telling some very touching stories…To tell the truth, I haven’t understood, probably, half of it, but from what I did understand I got a tremendous impression. And I like Frank Sinatra very much .And now I want to listen to Frank Sinatra's song «I did it my way»
