I would like to ask everybody how did you come to it? I mean how did you begin to like Oksana and Maxim's skating. As far as I understand this topic hasn't been discussed yet or I missed it?

So I'll be the first)) My first brightest memory about them was when I saw them in our city. They came with Ice symphony. After Navka-Kostomarov they looked weak. (Don't beat me, please))) Then in 2007 I saw their Plovetsian dance and was impressed. A years later I fell in love with Masquerade and Oksana and Max's skating))) Renee, I think you have an interesting story)) It even made you create the site...

Hi! My name is Katharina and I'm also new to this board...just thought this might be a good topic to introduce myself! ;D I first took notice of Oksana and Maxim at the 2003 Europeans, were they skated their Latin mix. I was just really amused and also impressed with how enthusiastic they were, giving 200% throughout. They weren't my favourite couple yet, but I was interested in their progress. Then in 2004 their neon-green costumes in the OD made me smile. But I became a big fan in 2005, when they skated that fantastic Foxtrot and did their insane Fifth Ele-ment FD!

I knew about Oksana & Maxim at Cup of Russia 2005 with their Free Dance "Waltz of the Spirits", but I didn't pay to much attention because it was Olympic season so I wanted to see Plushenko, Irina, Totmianina & Marinin and of course Navka & Kostomarov, so I didn't notice them so much. The at 06 Olympic Games I saw Compulsory Dance, I thought it was going to be boring but when I saw Oksana & Maxim I get really impressed with their skate, they were amazing and a different pair, I liked so much that I can't wait for OD (that wasn't show on Mexican TV) then their FD was great, the choreography, dresses, everything....so since Olympics I'm with them.

Renee, I think you have an interesting story)) It even made you create the site... I don't know if it's interesting and everyone probably already knows it In 2002 the Junior Grand Prix Final was in The Hague, which is very close to where I live so I went to watch that competition. Oksana and Maxim were there and they won and I was very impressed with their skating. They really were a lot better than the rest of the couples there, even though it was only their third or so official competition together. The fun thing about this competition too was that there was hardly anyone in the audience. In my memory there were just 10 people there that were not connected to any of the skaters But the event was great as it was also the event where Miki Ando landed her quad Salchow for the first time and she was the first lady to ever land a quad jump too. So I witnessed that too ;D I kind of fell in love with Oksana and Maxim's skating there and have been following them (with growing nervousness every year) ever since. I think it is really cool to have been able to follow a team from junior level to their first grand prix medals, then GP gold medals, European gold and silver medals and now even a world title! And I hope next season will bring more beautiful victories!

But it's interesting for me because I have joined the site for short time so I know about you a little. And for me it's still mystery how you can love O & M much. I have never loved foreign skaters more than ours. Except Johny Weir.)) I love him as well. On the other hand Johny has never won over for example Plushenko. I can understand how one can love foreign actors or writers or singers (my favourite group is British))) but when we speak about sport we mean also competition. Of course figure-skating is more than sport, it's art on the ice but still. I'm afraid my words are naive and not polite but I don't know how to explane it more correct.

There are no ice dancers competing for Holland, none at all, so it's not that difficult to support a team from another country we only have ladies and men, and two pairs
